Rage of the Red Lanterns leads directly into the next Green Lantern storyline and heads to The Blackest Night. Legion of 3 Worlds deals with the delightfully insane and whiny Superman Prime. Of the one shots, Resist is by far my favorite. It stars characters I've had absolutely no interest in reading--Mr. Terrific, Snapper Carr, Cheetah--but they are fantastic in this and I want to read more of them. Hey I've never liked the Flash's Rogue Gallery, thought they were dumb, but the Rogue's Revenge is a great read. Serious. Serious serious.
Yes I know there are a ton of sub-series and one shots and yes they are $3.99 minimum. But seriously, you only need to read the main mini series to get the story. Yes a few of the one shots fill in story lines and characters a bit better, but by no means are they a must. I think Submit and Resist are the most important of the one shots, but again, are not required (at least not yet, haha).
One more thing before I end this for the week, having read Jack Kirby's New Gods and Kamandi really helps make this series more enjoyable. The story is heavy in New Gods and Morrison is using what Kirby has laid down in the 70s. The New God Omnibus's and the Kamandi Archives are great reading in themselves and really enhance the story of Final Crisis.
Thanks for reading and I promise to keep this up, unless I'm too lazy to walk over to the computer and type, which is a great possibility :)
