Sorry for the delay

So yeah, things have been a tad crazy around here with Christmas and snow and more snow and more snow and for the love of God will it stop snowing.  Sorry about the delay but I've been shoveling.

On Thursday, when the snow was so bad, I wasn't able to make it off my block.  I live up on the South Hill and our good car was stuck at my wife's work.  So on this day, in between my shoveling, I was able to read all three graphic novels of Criminal by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips.  This series is a fantastic crime comic.  I've been a fan of both of these guys forever, I've always thought Brubaker was best on crimes stories.  So each book is broken up in separate stories about different people, there is no "main" character to the story.  But characters and names reoccur throughout the series, the characters may talk about a character in one storyline and in the next it'll have that character in it.  I reminds me a lot of the old Stray Bullets series before it went to crap.

Another really nice thing--these books are cheap.  $11.99 or $14.99 each.  A fourth book is coming finishing up what they've done so far.  They are taking a break from this series and starting a more super heroish crime book called Incognito (http://www.marvel.com/catalog/INCOGNITO.1) that I'm really looking forward to now.

Week 4 - only a day late

Only a day late, but it's been crazy busy so a quick thanks to all of you.  We'll start with this week's comics.  First off Secret Invasion #8....WTH...Bendis, God made you bald because he knew you'd write that story one day.  I immediately read The Crossed #2 to cleanse my pallente and it made me giggle out loud twice (the infected bullets).  For those of you not reading this series, it's Garth Ennis at his most violent.  It really puts all his other violent books to shame.  This is not for the squimish whatsoever.  It's basically a zombie end of the world book but the zombies are alive and crazed homicidal maniacs.

Rounding out this week was Batman #682 which leaves  me with the question, so uh was RIP just a Final Crisis replicating army of Batmen dream?  I'm sure the next and final issue Morrison's run will make total sense (hahaha).   But at least we got the return of the LUMP!

I also got in Justice Society of America Vols 1 & 2 this week.  They were great.  I never in a million years thought I'd be enjoying the adventures of these characters and when they brought in Kingdom Come Superman I thought it was such a gimmick but it was really enjoyable.  I'm looking forward to the release of the third book and getting caught up with the series as a whole.
