Final Crisis #7

So it finally ended.  Spoilers beyond, I tell ye.   In the long run I liked it.  It was a great series but as it wrapped up it left me wanting certain things and I guess it wasn't the things Morrison wanted to write.  It felt like it needed two more issues, two much crammed into too little panels (aparently that is what he wanted, a feeling of the end of things, things happening too fast).

Regardless, I wanted the resurrection of the rest of the New Gods and for them to have some part in it, not just a panel of them walking into the Kirby world.  A better explaination of the deaths of Hawkman and Hawkgirl.  And Mandrakk was utterly pointless.  I seriously have no idea why he was a part of it.  Darkseid was enough of an ultimate villian.  Darkseid was my favorite part of all this.  He was so twisted and evil and even in his death he was amazing.  Mandrakk was a waste of pages that could have been used for something else.

The things I did like:  A happy ending.  Frankenstein kicking Wonder Woman's ass (again I wanted to know a bit more but that planel was fantastic), a Kirby universe (that will probably never be properly used), the new Checkmate, the combined actions of the super heroes to kill Darkseid (especially the Flash outrunning the Black Racer through Darkseid) the death of the monitors and the knowledge of the multiverse, and most of all, I really liked the ending and the fate of Batman.
